What is an Athletic Trainer?

Athletic trainers are health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to optimize activity and participation of patients and clients. Athletic training encompasses the prevention, diagnosis, and intervention of emergency, acute, and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations, and disabilities.

In the industrial or manufacturing settings, ATs use the same prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation guidelines that are used with professional athletes. It is this proactive, innovative approach of treating “Industrial Athletes” that has led to the significant impact ATs can provide in production and manufacturing work environment.
